Important Terms

There are a couple of important definitions you should know about in order to fully understand the articles I’m uploading…

Late-stage capitalism: occasionally referred to as “end stage capitalism”, this a phase of capitalism characterized by globalization, multinational corporations, and commodified consumption, often seen as the current stage of capitalist development.

Neoliberalism: sometimes called market fundamentalism, is a political and economic ideology that advocates for free markets, minimal government intervention, free trade, and strong individual property rights. It emphasizes deregulation, privatization, and austerity measures to reduce state influence in the economy.

We live in a neoliberal late-stage capitalistic society. Large corporate powers deregulate our regulatory agencies into allowing their exploitative practices to continue. The rare penalties that occur can barely be considered a slap on the wrist. I wouldn’t even consider them light taps on the wrist! Or even a light brush with a feather on the wrists!!
